Orphan Grain Train Orphan Grain Train
Orphan Grain Train Orphan Grain Train is a Recognized Service Organization (RSO) of the LCMS that encourages and enables God’s people to share personal and material resources with needy people in America and around the world. Grain Train volunteers gather donations of clothing, medical supplies, food, Christian literature, and other aid to meet real needs. The Orphan Grain Train movement is a loving response to Jesus Christ’s example as a servant and His love for us. Whether your society is looking for a project that can be done year-long or on a designated day, consider assembling school kits, hygiene kits, layette kits, or teacher kits. Invite your Sunday School children and/or congregation to participate! If you have members that sew, consider making pillowcase dresses or flannel diapers, or maybe even feminine hygiene kits, quilts, or sweater mittens. Do you have members that crochet? Maybe you want to try turning plastic grocery bags into a sleeping mat. We are blessed to have an Orphan Grain Train branch in New England, in Terryville, CT where donations may be dropped off. Detailed guidelines for assembling the various kits are available at the Orphan Grain Train web-site.
